Epic^_^

Yo, first off, I'm sorry about the month delay =/. But now I could finally get to this song. I must say, its pretty impressive. Really epic sounding. I know it sounds like requiem for a dream, but why would I bitch? Many songs these days sound like other songs. Its called inspiration. You hear a song, really like it, then take your own spin---creating something really original. My last two independent trance songs are based off Jpop songs I heard. But they still turned out really original. So for everyone saying that "this song is not good because it sounds like Requiem for a Dream," they're really ignorant.

Okay, so to sum it up, I really love the whole orchestral feel and the drums, but what got me the most was the dynamics. Beautifully done. And the songs structure is so well varied. This song never gets boring. Well done and keep it up! You already know that I know that you're swimming in talent, but tell your friend that he's swimming in talent too!
Well done!

No need to be sorry. It's not like you're forced to review me and you've been late or something :P. Review me if and when you want to :).

Thanks a bunch for the support! That's exactly what Darklight and I have been telling everyone...

Yeah I definitely think they make the song sound more epic and powerful.

Good to hear, variety is usually our first goal.

Best Beat

This is probably one of the best beats I've ever heard on this site...heck, in my life for that matter. I love the choice of instruments, the beating, the vocals....fuck...everything was so damn nice. I could listen to this all day. You inspired me. Can you please tell me or PM me all the different VSTi (preset names as well) and instruments you used. Because I like beats with that "background color" that you can't really put your finger on. This song has it well done. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to use some a'capellas and play around with this beat.

Better than BOUNC3

Personally, I think this is better than BOUNC3's mix, even though both were really nice. Just to correct everyone, the original song is NOT by BOUNC3. It's by DJ Splash. I'm actually surprised that there are several remixes of this song up here on NG. DJ Splash seems more popular than I thought=P
But this was a really nice song man, keep it up! I noticed you took a great liking to my music as well. Thanks a lot! It's people like you that help spread the name of artists with potential. I would really love to do a collab with you someday.
10/10 5/5 fav DL...and I fav'd you as an artist too;)

Chimy727 responds:

Wow thanks! that means a lot!
But im afraid to say that the original IS By B0UNC3 actually... splash remixed it.
the whole story was on B0UNC3s page.
raaban was actually the one who stole credit for it, and let splash remix it.
they are all VERY great artists, but B0UNC3 really did make the original melody and song.
and yeah, splash is actually very popular.
thanks a ton anyway lol

Haha, I was just playing this game, and I come on to NG, and hear this lol. Really nice use of instruments. I love the melody you made with the sentry ^_^

Nice attempt

I must say, this is a pretty nice attempt. I see that you purposely had an offbeat kick, well, just as a criticism, it gets kinda annoying. I think this song will sound better without it. And I know this is your first song, hence the short length, but I wouldn't mind seeing more length. This song has great potential. It's helluva lot better than my first song lol.
And as for the grid, I think you're differentiating between the upper and lower grid. Well, let me tell you something, I also noticed that everyone uses the lower grid for their patterns. I use the upper grid for everything except for my beat and some automations. So using the upper grid or lower grid, your song will still sound the same. Its all about preference. I like to see what my sound clips and MIDI data look like, hence I have them on top. Once I have a perfect automation down, I don't need to look at it, so I keep it on the bottom. And the beat is like the "skeleton" of the song, and it's mainly used as a reference point, so I just keep that on the bottom too. So in the end, it's all preference, there's no right or wrong way. But according to Image-Line, the upper grid is more preferrable.
Nice Job, and Good Luck!

This is excellent

I really like this song. I saw it in your post in that thread just now. It's really nice. Really epic, nice beat and harmonies too. It inspired me in a sense that I want to start making DnB soon.
This song seems to be telling a story. I love it.

Good use of instruments

I really liked this one. It is a really nice remix. Great use of instruments. Which VSTi did you use? Did you use the program, Musagi, or is there a VSTi that has like gameboy-like instruments? If there is, can you please let me know where to find it, because it's something I've been looking for for a while.
I really liked the beat as well. This is an all around nice track.
Good Job!

CMG-UTOPIA-2008 responds:

Actually I opened the NSF file for Castlevania 2 Simon's Quest on Winamp and recorded a playback of Bloody Tears while muting out everything except Square 1 and 2 on the "NotSoFatso" Plugin that came with "ChipAmp" for my Winamp player. :-P All the other sounds I used on my music making program. :) Glad you enjoy.

Nice!

Lyrics are great, no problem there.
Autotune is dank! I love it! But sometimes It gets too jumpy.
Beat is great, and the melody is wonderful!
The only criticism is that maybe you could master the lyrics better into the mix, so they don't "stand out" and sound more "fresh." I know mixing in lyrics are a bitch, but your local library should have books on it.
I'm giving you a 10 for overall excellence and originality. Your lyrics are just super wonderful.

Really Nice

First off, the refrain at :39 with the arpeggiator was super dank, I loved it. I really love your choice of instruments. Can you please tell me which VSTi you used? You said something about HGSS MIDIs? Can you tell me where to find them?
The only bad thing about this is that it's too short, and it could have used a little more stuff, especially a more complex beat. Other than that, it was legit.
9/10, 5/5, DL, fav.

Blazaking responds:

Glad you liked it!
All instruments used in this are from FL's Sytrus Pack. Mostly Hypersaws and stuff like that. I'll PM you about the MIDIs.
I'm working on the length. I know it needs a bit more content, so I'm gonna try and figure something out. Beat is pretty simple since I only used the original one that was in the MIDI, but I'll try to improve that too.

Nice Mood

This song brings about a nice mood with it. It matches the title very well. I really like those sweep pads that come in as like the "refrain." That just adds a lot of color. I like the main melody too, and the choice of instruments. The transitions are great too.
The only thing this song faults in is the ending. But its minor. I'm not gonna take off points cuz of that.
Nice Job!
