You got flo

This is a dank ass track! Your flow is great! You used this beat to its full potential.
Maybe you could turn down the vocal volume a taaad bit, especially in the beginning. But overall, this is a very well track. You honestly have the kind of flow which I love. Haha, sometimes your lyrics were questionable but you tried very well.
Great job!

BAF responds:

Thanks man, my delivery in general has been my main focus of improvement recently so it's good to see that I've made headway there. The thing with lyrics is it always makes sense to the writer but can be obscure to the listener, especially when it's just 3 and a half minutes of rapping with no hook, sometimes you kinda stretch shit just so it fits. Lyrics are more important to me than anything else frankly so I'll struggle to improve there. Thanks again for the review.

Haha, this song is also for me

This song was submitted on my birthday too! Dude, you can really sing. You have very great harmonics. This sounds like some oompa-loompa stuff.
What's the name of your microphone?

Stalagmite responds:

its called bob.

but its species is a Rode M3 mic. ^ ^thanks for your much kindness :D and YEAH! happy birthday buddy ^ ^ LATE though :D **

Great!

This is a nice remix. I don't really spend my time listening to the loads of Tetris remixes out there, but I just thought I could come and check this one out. It's done pretty well.

Pros: Arpeggiator used very well.
Good choice of VSTs
Great structure.
Beat was superb!
Excellent harmonics!

Cons: Repetitive at times.
More instruments and variables wouldn't have hurt.

Othewise, this is a pretty dank remix! Great job!

Zeviron responds:

Hey thanks for the review.... wasn't really too sure if anybody was going to take the time out to listen to another Tetris Remix :) but thanks for that, and for you pretty helpful review.
Again thank you for the review and to the RRC :D

Dank shit

This is some dank ass shit. The beat is great. This sounds like some Slim Thug stuff. I wish I could rap like yall. I hope yall go far!

InGenius responds:

Thanks. Slim Thugga is def one of our inspirations as we're both from Texas. I think Mr. What It Do has the potential to do big things for sure. Thanks for the review.

Peace

Wow!

This is a very great beat! The instrumentals, melodies, omg, the're amazing!
Variety is abundant here! Doesn't get repetitive. I can see you have a talent in music! I love that! Sounds like some Middle-Eastern beat. I love the kicks. Which drum machine did you use? Like, what's the name of the kicks, snares, etc. (assuming you used FL).
Overall, well done!

BallinFatty responds:

wow thanks!! yea i used FL8 demo, the drum kit i used was a mix of the FPC and the Hiphop, but the trick was that i turned the pitch on the drums down a key. i figured since a limited amount of drumkits are availible, i needed to give myself a "new" one, so to speak. and surprisingly so, i used more variation here than in most of my works. enough outta me tho, i'm glad you enjoyed this track.

thanks again for the review, 10, and your time in listening!! :D

Extend it!

This song seems promising. It sucks how it hasn't gotten much, attention. I know exactly how you feel. It's hard to get exposure on this site =/. Well, I did find you through the Underdog thread, and I loved what you posted. It reminds me of...well, me =P. Other than study and chill with friends/partying, and athletics, I make music. It's my #1 hobby too.
But anyways, what I suggest is that you reduce the release on the envelope for the main sounds. Things get kind of messy. Just a taaad bit though, not much. Also, adding some saw sequences would be great! Just use your imagination and go wild! 5/5, good job!

Dr-Slump responds:

Thanks man! I knew there was somebody out there that would understand my pains and sorrow haha. Imagine how I suffer... I love making music... and my pc is 512mb ram. Old piece of garbage. And no keyboard. I'm not poor, but I spend too much of my money on other things. I have a top-notch guitar though... but that was my last musical investment. Now I'm just investing in chilling and partying with the bros, like you said. All year studying like a mad geek, finally some rest. Maybe I'll try to extend it someday. I have to learn new skills for techno songs. I really know well my FL, but i need to know some useful effects and know how to equalize really good to get everytime nearer the PRO level. Thanks for the review anyway! I'll try thinking of something soon.

omg...

I'm speechless. This is one of the best tracks I've heard on NG. I loved the Poizone VST in the background. It's ironic, because i just released a song of the same genre, using Poizone as the arp in the background, with the same note sequence you used =). Vocals = 10. Quality = 10. Originality = 10. Which mic did you use? I need one real bad (maybe as a christmas present lol). Which "autotune" program did you use? (maybe not an autotune, but like vocal effects).
Wow. That's all I have to say. When I get home this song is going straight to my iPod.

- DJ-Chilvan

eliashellfire responds:

Thanks alot for the excellent review man =) Yeah Poizone isn't used much by NG artists but that along with Toxic are actually pretty decent!
I used an Apex181 USB Condenser microphone. Not incredibly expensive and gives you great vocal quality.
I used the pitch corrector plugin from Adobe Audition but did some weird effects to it from FL 8.

SEGA

I like your choice of VST. They give this song a SEGA Genesisian type aura. The loops go well with eachother. This song is simple, but it says something. I believe that a musician's VST choice is just like a writer's diction. The way the synth-guitar comes in, I love that. The only downfall is the beat. It's good but could be a little more complex, like, it should have been building up 'til the end. Overall though, this is a pretty solid track. Great job!

Sawdust responds:

Thanks dude, even though I never really played anything SEGA, I find that to be a compliment, although a bit ironic seeing how I didn't aim to make a video game type song. But still, thanks, I'll try salvaging the old loops of FL8 into FL9.

This is some good shit

I don't have much to say, but great job! Which VST/soundpack did you use?

DJOrsa responds:

Messed around with Nexus, Vengeance, and a little in Reason.
3x Osc for some and I tried some bassline synthesizers too.

No stock samples were used. Everything was EQ'ed and made super wet, effects-wise. :D

Thanks for the review. :)

nice melody

I like the melody to this song.
Your style is very nice, I like how you add melodies upon melodies to avoid repetitiveness.
The main synth in the background is very cool. It's kinda catchy.
This song sounds victorious like.
Im sorry if this review is a lil choppy, im drunk tired now.

INoisy responds:

Thanks very, very much ;D Always makes me feel good. (:

I actually reviewed one of your songs yesterday, dunno if you noticed or not. I knew I recognized you. Peace, dude.
